6/10 PVO boat harbor and Lindon 4.0, 5.0 90L

Arrived at the boat harbor about 5pm. Waves were crashing and blowing over the road around the marina. As I was rigging a guy came up to me and said are you really going to go out in these conditions. I replied, yep with a big smile. He gave me a look like I'll read about you in the Darwin awards.

Rigged the smallest said I had a 4.0 (never been on anything smaller than 5.0) and hopped right up and ripped across the marina (wish I could've seen the guys face as I rode off). Turns out that was my best rid. Rest of the next hour I battled staying up and getting up. Sure wish some others were around so I could see how you get up in those conditions. I'd get all lined up and then a wave would come lift my board and the the wind would catch it and flip it over.

Wind was picking up and I couldn't figure things out very well so I decided to head to Lindon where there is always less wind. Got there and had a great 5.0 session until about 8pm. Wind starting dying and I barely made it back in.

Good learning experience for me. Never been in that much wind. 95% of my sailing is 6.2 or larger sail.
