I haven't sailed at DC for many years. Can anyone tell me the best spot there to park, rig up and launch? Any other comments relative to access and rules/regs to follow at DC and etc. would be appreciated!

The best poleboard launch is at the Deer Creek Island Beach Resort. Most of us drive about half way down the boat ramp, hang a left, and drive down the beach toward the dam. You're allowed to park on the beach long enough to unload or retrieve gear but are required to leave your vehicle in the parking lot while you are out sailing. Other possible launches are Sailboat Beach at the State Park (dam end) of the lake and Rainbow Bay, about half way along the Eastern shore of the lake, but both of those involve a long and/or steep hike from the parking area when the lake level is as low as it is at present. For a Google map showing the location of sailing sites along with descriptions, click on the "Local Sites" tab at the top of the page, then
choose "UWA Places." Hope to see you out there.
