Sailed 7 out of 8 days, and had a blast. First 4 days were awesome. The first day we met Gunnars @ Rufus, on the way into town. We started on 4.7. The swell seemed huge at first, I seem to forget each time I visit the Gorge, but am quickly reminded as soon as I am out on the water. I sailed down river to the Wall, to see who was there, and found some of the smoothest swell and wind of the trip. We managed a couple of hours, before the wind kicked up another notch, and sent us to shore.
Next few days were at Dougs for some 3.7 and 4.2. It was unusually uncrowded. There were times that we had a section of the river all to ourselves...we smiled.
We had a few good days at the Hack and several fun runs to Wells island. We had our light days here also, and one afternoon, found just Linda and I, for about an hour, as the only ones out blasting around on our 6's.
The water temp is cooling, but was comfortable, in a 4/3 steamer. Which is another great thing, this time of the year....WS Shop Sales. Brand new Neil Pryde 4/3 steamer for $100. We could not pass it up. So Ladies....if you need a steamer, call Isthmus, they still had a very good size selection.
Now we are looking forward to some good north days @ UL. And a camp weekend @ Yuba 19th and 20th, if anyone is interested in joining us, and camping, it's a birthday weekend, and we hope we get some wind.
