Took the family to "the beach" to fly Spiderman, and Cinderella kites. Had some fun with the trainer kite and even got my wife to give it a go and get the hang of it. Eyed the water thinking, this is good wind, I could ride this. Then thought, no, the entire reason I, and no one else has gone out today is the fact that most of the wind is accompanied by thunderheads and micro bursts (at least that is one reason). No sooner than I had that thought a gust came through lasting about 5 minutes that had to be close to 40 mph. I saw on the news that Provo clocked gusts of 46, although the Muni Airport station doesn't indicate that. But it was strong, I had the trainer in the air and in neutral for a couple of minutes to wait it out. I was super glad I was not on the water when that came through. But a fun hour with the trainer and the kids throwing rocks after they tired of flying their Cinderella and Spiderman versions!
