Grantsville Saturday 9-20, 7.0, 6.0 ?

We needed a motor home outing so it was off to Grantsville on Friday night. The wind started shaking the motor home around during the night and I figured I was in for a great morning of sailing. But for some reason, by the time I got up and rigged, it had died back. I spent the morning chasing planers on the 7.0 with Ivan on his 6.4. We finally hit some higher winds out of some dark clouds and I had to rig the 6.0 and hang on tight. All through the afternoon wind lines varied between 20 and 40 with dead periods and 5 minute periods of rain. It took a lot of adrenaline to hang on to the 6.0 at times but I was pumped and having fun with the little 85L Sonic screaming. Due to the up and down nature of the wind it took all day to get enough sailing in but with the family there I didn’t have anywhere else to go. A pure grin day and probably one of the last really warm sailing sessions. Sunday was lighter and I spent the time trying to teach one of my granddaughters how to sail.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
