9/26 Fri Island Beach 6.6 to 9.0

Steve Nyhus and Jerry Giles were rigged and ready at 1230, rigged 7.5 and 8.8. Shocking to NOT see any kiters on the drive in, guess they were baking those infamous cookies that keep tempting our Pole friends. Jim rigged a 6.6 and flew up to Rainbow Bay in a leap of faith, and exactly at 3pm it became gusty as Craig predicted, game over shortly after that. Hot water, no Rangers, bathrooms are still open and the leaves are already beyond red..

Completing the small but dedicated poleboarder congregation was our newest "regular", Leo Chan.

It was a nice afternoon. Still comfy in the shorty wetsuit. Rigged the 7.5 and had some good rides for a couple of hours. When it backed off I went in and rigged the 9.0 but it never came back enough for that. Sat around till about 5 and headed home.
