DC SBB 7.2 / 136

We arrived at DC IB @ 2pm to glassy water, and no other WS onsite, so we headed for SBB. We arrived to lots of white caps, from the damn to the beach, and half way down the lake. Pete and Jerilyn had the same idea, and were pulling out stuff to rig. We rigged quickly, me a 7.2 and Linda a 7.5, and took off planning. With in 20 mins. the wind picked up a couple of notches, and we sailed op'd the next 45 mins or so. It was quite a workout, to hang on to the 7.2, but in DC fashion, I didn't think it would last that long, so I just hung on, and did a lot of up wind and down wind, to deal with the conditions. A mid 6 and smaller board would have worked nicely, if it had been rigged and ready, but I would have missed the best wind of the day, had I gone to rerig. It's never a quick rerig at DC. Anyway since we had dinner plans, we came off the water when the holes got big, and the wind a bit flukey. Pete and Jerilyn stuck with it and were still sailing when we left. Even with our short time on the water, I felt like I had a good workout, and got the sailing itch scratched. It sure calms my nerves, to get a bit of quality time on the water!
