Not a bad sunset session at the udot field near home depot. Arrived at 4:00 to 15-20mph winds and 3-4 kiters out. Thought about the 11m, but rigged the 15m and was glad i did. Wind held for about 15 mins and then lulled to the 10mph range for about a half hour. Just when i was sure i had been bamboozled again and was thinking of packing it in (maybe around 5), the wind came back up to the 15mph range and stayed there til the sun went down. Snow surface was nice, 3-4 inches of fresh on top of pp. Dropped down into the field in the valley below the udot field. It's a little sketchy going thru the gate on a NW wind as you're in a bit of a wind shadow there and it would be easy drop your kite on the fences and posts in the area, or worse, have an inopportune lull/gust drag you into the fence. Nice untacked snow on the valley floor, but i didn't stay long. I was down there when the wind started to lull so i headed back up to avoid a long walk in case it died altogether.
