Strawberry Skunking 14 m Mayhem

Postby ChrisPSherwin » Tue Mar 17, 2009 9:42 am

Rigged at the Marina Monday night at 6 pm thinking that there might be wind. Made a few passes on the snow. 2 inches of decent slushy snow - but the light wind died. A few other people had just come in - the surface was fast, but apparently despite the impressive south winds around the state, the marina was on and off. They had been flying 11 and 12 m kites mid day. It was very nice to have ski poles with me for the trip back to the marina. I saw a few people at strawberry river on the way in. One was in the wind shadow at the bottom of a hill at about 5:30. I think the wind died there around the same time, but I really don't know. While driving home at 740 pm the wind was actually out of the east at strawberry river at 5 knots I would say. Oh well - Thurs and Fri could be good.
