6/27 Lindon Beach 7.5 138L

Crowded! suddenly people and boats everywhere. Its not even the 4th. Can we get the cold water back! I miss having the whole lake to myself. I suppose its ok to have company in case of emergency. The wind peaked between 6-7 pm. It scared away all but one of the 10 anchored boats at the beach. Brad and Rod were on kites, and there was a family on triangle style windsurfers. The 7.5 was close but not quite. I used to call it cruising, but I now know it is really just slogging and its not enough anymore. I Did manage to plane 2 times on gusts for less then 10 seconds each. When I started in april I would have been thrilled. I am now starting to understand the pain expressed here when the wind is not cooperating. I even managed to get heckled by some punks on a wake boat. whoo hooo! they said :|| . I should have replied get a Kite you @$$ #%$! . but then they would have run me over. So here is my plea... anyone have something close to 8.5 that needs a good home? for a good deal? Thanks, Shawn

I am glad you're now on your way to be a true wind junkie. Once you planned, there is no going back. 8) Since you have a 7.5, I suggest you get a 9.0 instead (providing that it will fit your 490 mast and largest boom). Modern sails allows for lots of tuning that will fit more wind range. A little less downhaul and outhaul will increase the power of the sail a bit. Conversely, more outhaul and downhaul will reduce the power too.
