Great session with more than enough company. Can't believe how many kiters were there last night. Showed up around 7pm and had to park in the dirt as all the spots were taken. Wind seemed to be similar to what the windsurfers experienced after reading their posts. Who was taking pics?

Looks like we all missed it! PVU was reporting 22-30 mph from about 11pm-2am.

We need to get those big stadium light set up on the other side of the jetty. How cool would that be?

What Awesome day it was!! The Utah crew were going huge and hucking hard then I have ever seen them do before.

Thanks everybody for demoing the Kahoona. I hope you enjoy the kites.

As BB noted, a little gustier than normal for ULLB, but still way smoother than DC. The best wind was early. I was lit on the 10 from about 3:45-5:30. came in for a 1/2 hour break and the wind had dropped off quite a bit when i went back out, but still kiteable on the 10 for another hour when i decided it was more work than necessary. A bigger kite would have been fine at that point. of course the wind picked up a bit again as soon as i had de-rigged.

Tried out the kahoona. Stable, good grunt. not the fastest turner, but fast enough and it seemed like you could still load up and get good height on jumps.

7/13/09 Lincoln Beach 9.5 kahoona

Postby hedquista » Tue Jul 14, 2009 9:25 pm

yes it was a good night. Thanks for the kites to ride jake and troy. I do like the kahoona but as stated before it is a bit slow. but that makes it great for the waves. Tons of kites.... it was like a war zone dipping dodging and diving my kite just to get around in the flat water.
