Pleasant but rather gusty autumn day. Many of the usual suspects showed up: John D., Sarah, Linda, Carl, Dave O., Jim H., Shawn, Mark, and probably others that my aging brain is failing to recall at the moment.

good turnout down at Barbwire as well. Wind was up and down and the direction kept changing. I went out on 17M, but got bored so I threw up the silver arrow and handed my 17 over to Billy. Seemed like the right call.

I hoped for an encore, but the wind was colder and almost onshore this time. Not as much south. Switchy, gusty, and I think lighter. Still got some in the straps rides, but at least as much slog as plane. Still it was a very big day for me. I nailed a jibe! I guess if you attempt something enough times you luck into it eventually. The sail kind of flipped on me and was ready to go in the other direction. Now if I can just get the percentages up. Also I was impressed by those formula boards. One sailor was just awesome. I don’t think he ever was off the plane. Constant cranking!

Rolled in at 2:30 and saw kites flting pretty well powered. Pulled my 14 out of the bag, unloaded some gear, looked at the lake and all the kites were down except for one I think. That's pretty much how it was from 2:30 - 5:00, up and down. My 14 m kite seemed tiny. I had about 4 sessions of 5-7 minutes, and I was lucky to make it back to the grass from the beach during a lull. I dropped the kite 4 times, but only into a depowered position once, so I was able to relauch easily by pulling the center lines. It didn't totally suck, but a bigger kite and smaller waist would have made it better. Peter was on a 16, Billy on the unmentionable 17, Kenny on a 19, Spencer showed up around 4 with a 16. I suppose I would do it again...

Dog-gone Sundance site down again. Looked promising and it was. Very pleasant fall day thermals. Formula gear wound up pretty good. Mild to moderate harbor chop and traffic. The only real threat was the yellow wave runner with it's marginally competent skipper. Had to wave it off once since it didn't seem to be paying attention.
