It's still too cold to ride the liquid water (unless you have b***s the size of Todds).

At 2 Sundance wasn't looking encouraging, the DC web cam was showing mightcaps (very small swells actually) but no slightcaps, let alone real whitecaps. But the trees were rustling, and it had been too long. And it's always interesting see what the temp limits really are. (The significant other was, for once, not real supportive.) On went longjohns, fleece union suit and drysuit, and off I went to DC, where the sky was overcast, the temp was in the very low 40s, and the wind was light but fairly steady, with moderate gusts coming through now and then. How did it feel? Not cold, but with all the layers I had on, I did feel kind of bulky. What to rig? If I really had b***s, I'd have put on a 9.5 and been planing the whole session. But the temperature had me intimidated, and it looked as though the wind was building, so I rigged my 8.5 with which I was occasionally able to fight my way onto a plane. The sailing was definitely not epic, but once the sun dipped below the cloud cover, the scenery was spectacular. Air temp: 41F Water temp: 50F.
Impressive for sure, Jim is KING! 50F water temps? I have watched him enough to know he probubly only got wet placing the bouy. If the air temps come up enough around wed. I may try for a must not get wet session at DCIB
