Dec 15 Pow Mow 10m Frenzy Tele ski's

Postby Augie » Tue Dec 15, 2009 5:47 pm

First ride of the year for me. Winds were about 20-25. Snow was deep. Pow Mow is reporting a 42 inch base and a lot of it is new. That meant lots of hollow spots even on my 190 Verdict ski's which are pretty wide. The sage is covered except in just a few spots where just the top is poking through. The coverage seems pretty even and not wind scoured. I had a pretty good session but the lifts on that side of the mountain are not running yet, so I didn't see anyone else. The road to the top was just plowed yesterday. As windy as it was I'll bet you could have ridden at Monte. The snotel site there says 33 inches.
Also, Pineview is frozen even in the back bays. I didn't see any fisherman on it and it doesn't look real thick yet. They moved the bouys by the dam further away from the dam. If you walk down where the fisherman park it is right there.
