"Warm before the storm" South wind, fairly steady by DC standards, and quite warm - high of 40F, making the snow a bit grabby and very dense. Could definitely have used more kite! Mike Hill (10m Frenzy, snowboard) arrived about the same time I did (a little before 4) and there was another kiter riding on the area to the North of the lake. Tracks on the lake suggested that someone had been out earlier in the afternoon. Two bald eagles and what appeared to be a couple of swans by the open water where the river enters the lake.
