STRABS CC 02/05/10

Postby David Kyle » Fri Mar 05, 2010 7:36 pm

Arrived at CC to light to moderate west wind at 11:00. Rode for a few hours in about 6" of new fluffy
snow which turned very consolidated and heavy around 2:00 when the sun came out to stay. Wind never got above
15 MPH but we take what we can get as the season starts to wind down.

It picked up a little after you left. Peter and I rode for a while. He had the good sense to pack it up before it backed off again. I, on the other hand was not so smart. After Peter left it picked up even more. I was riding nicely powered up for little while. I was having a blast just playing to the bench of the hill. Snow was pretty good and very forgiving of my many mistakes on reentry. I made a tack up the hill about as high as I had gone all day and right as I turned to come back down the wind shut off. Like a switch. Two and a half hours and .6 miles later I made it back to the car. Little more workout than I had planned. I think some snowshoes might be in my future.
