arrived at the water around 10:45 to see southwick on his 6.6 getting rides in between large holes, by the time I rigged my 6.6 it had filled in nicely. When I hit the water a little after 11:00 it was fully powered. I hung on to the 6.6 as long as possible but some of the gusts were barely surviveable so I made the decision to rigg down to a 5.6 but the wind keep building and when I hit the water with the 5.6 it was fully powered. I love it when the wind mades me rig down! Nice waves to jump with a little hang time ( 2 count ). So the wind keeps building until my 5.6 is getting over powered alot and I am getting low on fuel, I decide to take a break and let muscles relax while I rig a 4.7 ( a rare thing at DC) I get the 4.7 rigged and wind is still increasing wooo!!! I'm fully powered on a 4.7 and I'm all alone. I'm ripping around on my 4.7 getting air at will but running out of energy, then the wind come up even more like 3.5 and I'm hanging on for dear life so I decide to hang it up about 3:00pm. What a day!!! Don't get many of these, A day to remember!!
