Marty is right it is a liquid force fish. It is fun, because it has a flatter deck and relatively flat bottom with hard rails. The board goes upwind with power like a rocket. I was able to move my big clumsy feet around the deck for jibes. The board is made more like a twin tip in that is very thin. I think for the price this is great entry level directional board. I also bought a set of sligshot thruster fins at second wind for $5 regular $29, these are a necessity for this board the fins that come with it don't cut the mustard. Tommy reynolds got me to bring home one for him, so now there will be two on the beach.
John good luck in da Gorge. those two days at rufus could be the best ever for me. If you can get on a directional it is a blast to ride swell.
