1/19 Strawberry 9M 170Burton

It was a good afternoon at Strawberry. Wind was 15 to 21mph on my meter, nicely powered on the 9M. About 5 kites at CC East, I was the only 1 at Co-Op. Good powder in the troughs and Nestle Crunch on the ridges. Got cloudier around 4PM and the light got flat, but good vis with sun earlier. That's when the wind started backing off. Almost wanted some bushes sticking out for reference but like the deep coverage!!! Who else was there? Whit G

I was one of the several over at CC east. It was a great day. The snow wasn't the greatest but I'll take it. Windblown crust with small powder patches. It was fun for my first time out snow kiting this year. I was also on a 9m kite, but with skis.

Big wave Dave and I went to the view area. We were both flying 15m Mantas. More of the same over there. Crusty snow with pockets of powder. The lake had more snow on it than last Friday but was still not a lot of fun. We made our way down to the skate park, aka Sage Creek. Found some good spots and played for hours. Wind backed off a couple times. The light wind made the trek back to the car a lot longer than it should have been. Got in the car at 5:40 and still had some light left. Longer days are great as long as they don't get warmer.
