Strawberry Epic Downwinder 2/8/11

Put in some serious mileage today with Fred and Dary and were Joined at the end by Jake. Started at Chicken Creek around 12:30 and finished at the cabins around 5:00. Lit on the 12M Manta with Fred and Dary on 11M and Jake on the new 11.5 Kahoona. The best wind of the year so far and plenty of pow stashes on the lee sides of the hills as well as great snow in most places on the lake. Downwind speed runs and powder turns on the lee side as well as great ridge lift on the hills made it epic! Another foot of powder on the windward scoured faces and ridgetops and it would have been unbeatable. Either way big air was mandatory and everyone was throwing it down! I'll take another please!

I wish I have a smaller kite and didn't have to work. The wind was good. I hope tomorrow is a repeat.

Downloaded the data from the GPS. It says that we traveled 50.1 miles. Dary, I am guessing you are probably closer to 70 including your first session. Super fun day. Strawberry is HUGE!
