A week of fun

So not sure if this will be following Kenny’s rules or not but for the sake of it here we go.

Spent many days riding a new area this year and have not taken the camera out to get pics till now. Fond some great ravines full of butter soft powder that has changed the way I view snow kiting. The snow has been clean from almost all tracks including snowmobiles (my personal favorite part) have been riding most of this season in mid thigh to ankle deep POW that is not wind scoured in any way it has truly been an unreal experience. I have found a new desire to increase my trick bag and an even greater desire to share the stoke with as many people as I can. My close friend and riding partner Chris has been finding the same pleasure and excitement that I have in these spots

. As you can see from the shots these were taken this week very dry and clean powder that just keeps on giving. Many turns have been had of the untouched and clean powder. But what fun I s a day without some good old air time?

So now that we have your attention let’s talk about what is really important the changing of the seasons and the coming of a new day! So tonight on the way home I was lucky enough to find a small!!! Wind line coming into lindon. I have been hunting the wind on Utah lake for over a week now but was finally rewarded if I diligence and efforts, with the best session I have had in many months! The wind was light and night was coming fast the sky loomed grey and the wind lulled in way that brought the sorrow or another skunk alas the gust followed the still silence and I new it was to be had! Pumped the kite in the greatest of speed raced to walk the lines and put on the wet suit. I ran to launch only to find another lull. The agony grew the anticipation now oozing from me. I took one last look over the lake in hopes to see what only a true blue Utahan would a wind line, and there she was hanging just in the distance. To my utter disbelief it showed and I launched the kite, ran to the water and grabbed my board and headed out to get the ride of a life time. As my feet struck the water chills ran through my body shaking my new found confidence, but after this much time and commitment I could not turn back, I pressed forward into the smooth dark water and waited for the wind to build to a rideable speed. Slowly looping the kite and maintaining good apparent speed. Then from behind the trees a direction I would have never conceived the wind climbed and I found my kite began to dive. it was all instinct from hear tossed the board down into the water and leapt onto it and carved deep and hard into the wind, the board broke plain and just as it broke the sun did as well to make a sunset that can only be described with pictures with glass smooth water and slow wind I remembered kiting is much more than just another sport it is a way of life to become one with the power of the wind and water to move with such grace and speed in way that can never be described, only felt.
