I got to East Coast last Sunday and except for one day, I have been sailing and kiting everyday! When the wind is coming from the east, either sail at the bay side or kite at the ocean side. Getting the windsurfing board over the surf is almost impossible to the ocean side. So, kiting is the good alternative. For the most part, the wind has been in the lower teens to upper teens with some steady gust of up to 30s. The bay is a great place for a big kite and race board. But I only have the Mega Kahoona and Sports Instinct 13 meter. They work out great for most of the time. When the wind picks up, having these kites and a small board is really fun.

Maybe it was the training from the gusty Utah wind. Maybe it was that our Utah crew are better kiters. I am usually out on a kite 2 meters bigger than those used by Dewey locals. And while I was jumping of chops and boosting, the locals are pushing their bar out and coming in. All the training at Strawberry and Skyline are paying off. I also kited in the open ocean for the first time. I must admit it was a lot of fun, if not a little scary. :)
