It was an iffy prospect today. Wind looked good, but clouds were hanging around West Mountain. On the drive down I saw showers over MM19. I was worried, but kept going. I arrived to sunny skies at 4:30. Wind was light, but I could see some caps, so I decided to rig 16. It was the right call. Wind built a bit the first 40 minutes and then slowly faded the next 40 minutes. By the time, we all pulled off the water, we could see lightening strikes around the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. A few members of the local crew showed up. Some got rides, others missed it. I hope this monsoon pattern is short-lived.
