Rush Lake July 16

Postby Mark Johnson » Sat Jul 16, 2011 6:22 pm

Rode 13m for the first half. It was typical gusty Rush. Had a blast riding with Todd to the south end and finding glass conditions in the shallows. Second half the wind picked up big time and I was able to ride 7m surfboard.

what a beautiful day to lose my rush virgin status. now i know why everyone says "rush is plush." Early in the day however when the wind would take some serious lulls i would sink into the water and each time took out massive amounts of grassy moss. Also I'm probably getting some heel straps or wake-style bindings because losing your board mid-air can make for a sore bum in even the deepest parts. I rode 12m most of the day, but around 2:30 it became too much for me so i came in fully satisfied. Also, i forgot to give chase my phone number in case he ever ends up stranded for 7 hours in utah lake again (did you get into your car ok?). (801) 420-0222. rush IS plush woo!

Just a little windsurfing update:

Very fun on the 4.7 / 100 liter. Used a 20cm FS fin that handled the weeds very well. Not a problem at all. Rush is still plush ;)

The wind kept building all afternoon. Started on a 16, then a 12m foil, and then a 9M. Great afternoon with lots of kiters (and a couple sailors).
