After a couple of tel calls and a check of Grantsville Windmeter, Black Crook Peak Windmeter, & the SLC upper air, all signs looked good so Grant & I blew away breakfast and headed for Grantsville. Hitting no wind in West Valley I Googled up the Grantsville Windmeter and at 7:30 it went 8-13 NNE from 15-19 S at 7:15. I could hardly believe this quick of a change & called Grant who was in front of me. He was about 5 minutes from G'Ville and so he drove on over the lake to see if the meter had gone beserk. Unfortunately the wind had gone north but it shocked the meter so bad it never came back on until 13:45. We sat it out for about 45 min & back comes the south in the 6.5 to 7.5 range. Could hardly believe this either but after a furious rigging session & getting everthing in the water it died, went East, then NE. As Marty would say WTF. Talk about frustration!! I am starting to look forward to skiing already.
