8/31 Rush 8m Ozone Catalyst

Arrived early and rode for a few hours well-powered on an 8m. For those who have not been to Rush in a while, I think we need to make a distinction between moss and weeds. Rush does have some moss, but it is choked with underwater weeds. Either one has the power to snag your lines, so you have to keep your kite up either way. The difference with the weeds is that you can still ride over them on a kiteboard. In prior years, Rush literally mossed over to the point that it was unrideable. This year you can ride everywhere. The underwater weeds make the surface glassy in some areas. So, today was actually epic, doing huge downwind slashing carves on butter water and nice airs on butter with a small kite. Plus, no crowds to fight over the butter. The trick to it all is you cannot drop the kite.
