Mui Ne update

Postby Todd Jacques » Sun Dec 16, 2012 1:54 pm

Had a great time. 8 out of 10. The first 5 days were very good. rode 10 and 13 C4. Did two down winders to Phan Thiet. There are some good waves to ride on the down winder. The riding in Mui Ne proper (Ham Tien) is good with lots of kiters and good swell like Baja. The last 5 days got crappy with wind everyday but two with the Zephyr rescuing the sessions. Riding the Zephyr there caught eyes, but there were Dynos And SS 17s out as well, so I was glad I brought it. Most people there would rather sit on the beach than ride anything bigger than a 10? The local Vietnamese people are great. There are a lot of euros there and a occasional topless sunbathing hottie to be seen.
A Typhon went up the Philippine straights which killed the normal wind pattern. I am told the month before I came was 90%. I am told the wind season is Dec to March. Right after I left it fired up to a normal wind pattern. I might have to go back in February and experience what the locals say is the best wind. This was the original place Ozone tested there kites before moving to New Zealand.
