3/23 Cabarete 12m

Had 2 days of light wind in a row where I took the 21m out and rode for an hour or so. It was nice to see the trade winds kick in yesterday. Waves were small, so I was glad that I had a kite with plenty of boost to keep me entertained. It is a junk show in the break with Dominican kids soaring high with beginners trying to sort out how to put a board on in the same vicinity. However, it is easy to get away from it by going a bit upwind or doing a downwinder.

I like it here. The food is good and cheap. The water is warm and the wind is smooth. The area is not overly developed yet, most of the tourists are kiters or windsurfers, so you see less of the obnoxious American tourist here.
