Escaped the valley heat wave and headed to Wyoming. Breezy with intermittent windy spells, southwesterly mostly. Both of us even got some rides on the far shore. I was testing our newest upgraded Equipe, now "equipped" with bitchin' new mast track from Slovenia (yes!) and new C'B'D gasket design based on a Dartmouth professor's design he did a couple of years ago that is equally bitchin'. It ain't a course board until both those things work. How wonderfully anachronistic, one might say. Yep, and perfect for getting out for a cruise in the sub-planing conditions which prevailed. Shorty wetsuit was just fine. Coulda gone without, even.

North Shore Doug showed up just as the wind was cresting and did his Airbender thing with his new Wing and familiar foil in the light breezes. "Perfect for Sulfer, where it's up and down all the time". Got a good short session carving his curvy, spirally, ice skater tracks on the smooth water near the island (which is still submerged!). Sulfer, I swear, has the best launch of all our usual haunts in this drought year! Shortest walk to the water by far, of Grants, J-Bay Ross Creek, and LDell. North of the main boat ramp still OK with many rocks in the launch shallows that are not too hard to negotiate, and, adjacent, a patch of soft sand to land on. We launched near the south boat ramp as usual and there was very little mud to worry about, so pretty easy.

Just a few powerboats out, not at all crowded. Families playing in the water or having a picnic. Some gulls, geese, and one ibis. Really nice to be someplace cooler, still green and uncrowded. Left around 6 just as the breezes switched and started from due south.
