Monday 4 Sept. - Skyline High Parking Lot - Landboard w/5.0m

Postby Rick McClain » Wed Sep 06, 2006 12:23 pm

After days of looking for wind anywhere close, I finally found it in the parking lot at Skyline High School. I was getting desperate. Don't have any idea why it finally blew that evening and not others, but, boy, was I ready.
Arrived around 7:30pm, rigged a 5.0 sail for my landboard and sailed 'til around 10:15pm, when I got overpowered. My arms and grip were tired and Tuesday was to be a work day, so I called it quits.
Too bad I had it all to myself; I would have enjoyed some company.
If you have WeatherBug installed on your computer, use the Upland Terrace Elementary School weather site for wind readings. It is only about two or three blocks away and seems to read pretty true.
Also, check out the Skyline High Calendar to see if the parking lot will be full of cars(home field football games, tennis, etc.):

East winds usually start around dusk.

If you find wind there some evening, give me a call at 484-8488. I'm only a few minutes away and would love to join you.

Hope to see you there.
