Well at 3:00 a thermal "breeze" blew past the beach. Spent the next two hours with exactly two planing rides. About the time I resigned myself to touring the lake and taking in the fall scenery, Sarah showed up with her "lucky" wind board. Thanks Sarah! This was close to 5:00 and things finally started to get interesting. The wind seemed to build from 5:00 on. The wind was fairly steady with just enough wind to get things moving on most tacks. With my kids waiting at home, had to derig at 6:30 (even though the wind was still blowing), maybe even stronger. On the way home, must have been Carl C. enjoying Island Beach. Who would have thought you could show up at Deer Creek and get the best sailing of the day after 5:00?
