Went up for half a day Friday. I stopped in the lodge and was told there was going to be a private ski party on Timberline lift and I was invited to come along. They turned on the lift for about 12 people and we skiied some mid calf deep powder. It was hard to not kite but it sure was nice to make powder turns. The new owners representative again mentioned that he wants to try kiteskiing. He hasn't been available yet on the times when I am up there. We already ahve the mountain manager hooked and Les loaned him a trainer.
I went back up Sunday and when I arrived the wind was barely stirring. I figured I would at least go on a ski tour and work off some Thanksgiving weight. As I ate my lunch the wind barely started moving out of the West so I headed out to the riding area. As I got to the top of the ridge the wind was marginally enough to launch the 10m Frenzy. I kited for about 2 hours on 8-10 mph plus another 1/2 hour of getting my kite out of a 20 foot tree. I heard someone else put a kite into a tree this year but I will let them tell you about it. Those frenzy's are tough kites -no damage except for some sap on my pants.

Hey Auggie,
If needed, I can meet that guy up there just about any morning between 9:30 and 11:30 if he's up there and you cant make it to instruct on a trainer.

Rod knows enough to fly the trainer now. He can fly it in any park that has room.
The problem with most days (except Friday afternoons) is they are supposed to be working and can't just take off to fly a kite in the middle of the day.
