I skipped the nuking winds at Pow Mow and drove directly to Monte Cristo. I drove off the pavement onto the Hardware Ranch road and stopped about a half mile in when I saw a relatively well covered patch on the west side of the road. The wind was about 16-18mph SW and was steadily increasing. I started at 10:00 and kited until 2:30- my legs were sore the next day. The wind was good but there was a breakable crust that was about 2 inches thick and really wanted to grab the ski's. It was nice to kite right next to the truck and take a lunch break at the vehicle. The winds were probably 23-24 mph when I left and it started snowing.
