12/18 Pow Mow

Postby Augie » Tue Dec 19, 2006 7:07 am

Took off another half day and went to Powder Mountain. Winds were 12mph out of the east. I was flying my 10m Frenzy. East is an unusual direction for wind at Pow Mow but it made things interesting. I thought that wind direction would make it easy to get back to the parking lot but the wind was shifting to out of the north by the time I wanted to leave. I went flying into the gap and the kite dropped like a rock and would not realunch. All of the sage is covered now except out on the far ridge.

Weird day hey, just missed you again Auggie. I went over to check out the rain tree area. Just a slight breeze over there. Came back found some snowkite tracks on the north east side of the towers in. Set up and flew up and over the ridge. Flew a little while, and tried to fly back towards the parking lot, kite dropped shortly off the ridge, packed and went home. Saw Chris having an epic of his own. Something about tangled, grrrr, trees, grrr. His side step tracks were coming straight out of a canyon so I figured I'd let him be, had to get back to eat my bday cake.
