Took the lovely drive down to Skyline today. No wind to speak of. Hung out for a few hours waiting for the wind to kick in, but it never really happened. I finally decided to pack it all up and head out. Hopefully after I left someone got some rides. I wanted to check out a field on the way home that I have seen a few times on the drive down. Its about 10 minutes north of Fairview, west of 89, a bit before you hit Indianola. There are usually a bunch of garbage cans sitting along the road.
Stopping there, the spot looked good, about a foot of snow with some kite killers sticking out of the snow, but most are avoidable. Amazingly there was some decent south wind. Decided to try it out. There aren't any fences, some power lines that run with the road, so the spot would work in any wind direction. Probably the most fun on a north because of the hills. Not much terrain to speak of on a south, but made a lousy day worth while. Next time you get skunked at Skyline check it out. I rode powered for an hour or so till it got dark. Wish I would left Skyline sooner.
