Winds were 5 to 15 from the southwest, lightest being by the parking lot and the most wind was at the north end of the area. Rode from the hill above the parking lot out to the area. I think I did my first "glide" off a hill. Didnt send the kite just went fast down a small hill and pulled the bar in like suggested in previous posts. Couple feet of air, but you got to start somewhere. Was able to ride back to the parking lot under powered. Fun, wished there was more wind.

Les,
Nice to hear that you are learning how to glide. Gliding is not as wind dependent as jumping. (You can glide a long ways in marginal wind) It is more about getting a lot of speed before take off and flying a very large kite. Keep doing it over and over again.
