Awoke to a cool north wind ripping through the campsite. Went out to do some early morning photography and to wait for a bit of warmth (hey this is Mohave time). Hit the water about 10 or so and got a nice session on the 5.0, but a bit gusty for a north at that site. Had some lunch and hit the water again on the 5.0. After about 15 minutes the wind died relative to a 5.0 and I was way out and a bit downwind. As the wind continued to fall off, and as as I waited for the gusts to waterstart, I moved further downwind. Finally concluded that it was time for a downwinder to Telephone cove. Not very far as a downwinder goes, but it worked. Jet skier from Cabinsite spun by to check on me and help me communicate to Eileen to pick me up at Telephone cove. Only 3 local kiters out in the mid day.
