Wind was weird at the Salt Ponds today. According to the mesonet, it was strong in the late afternoon. It was so light when I arrived I debated going out. The first 45 minutes I was powered enough to stay upwind, but not to jump. Then it really picked up and I had plenty of power to jump. The odd part was that the wind was somewhat gusty today. Seemed strange since there was not a cloud in the sky. I thought it would be pure thermal. Perhaps, the gustiness was due to the south fighting the north. All in all it was fun, left with a big grin and salt encrusted gear. Found the best way to clean the gear is to wash it off for a buck at SuperSonic Car Wash.
