Rush 4/5 11,13 M Instinct Sport II and 136.146 SS Misfits

Arrived around 12:00 to 13-20+ , Jody and Justin were doing downwinders on Mt Board and small foil. Jody had gone out earlier on 20M (animal). I rigged 11M and 146, excellent choice for an hour or so, Smaller kite for the Gusts and bigger board for the lulls, felt like it lightened up. Came in Gave Jody try on the 11M and I took 13M out with smaller board 136. WOW, what a dynamic duo, wind picked back up, gusts were into mid 20's+(max 27) and I was lit. Great second (2 hr) session. Needed a break, Damn dry suits and coffee, & hands were a little cold. Looked over at the fence and thought what the hey. Walked over and pulled it up. Took care of posts and wires as per Marty's deal with Randy. It should be no problem, now. Needed one more session, wind still up but lighter, took out 13M and Glide, 'Kenny cruzin' for another hour or so. GREAT afternoon at the pond. Best day on water so far (4 out of 4 at the pond).

So, John, how deep is Rush? Mid calf, mid thigh? I don't think it's even close to
peaked yet, this looks like a better year for a longer Rush season, and I might
sneek in there and get a few rides on my pole board. I've always been with the
spring fed theory people, and the ground water should be up considerably this year.

Mid Thigh deep for us short legged, sub 6 footers. Also, probably higher up the leg than that for the big boys, Jason and Todd who will sink more into the mud. Remember though, this is in the middle. You will still need to wade out quite a ways till a deeper fin will not hit. With the Glides 1/2 inch fins we can ride the whole thing, Mistfits have 2 inchers and we need to stay out a bit. 14 inch blade, well, I hope you can ride in circles in the middle. Soft muddy bottom, however. Level looks like it's come up since last week. Lots of distance up the shore line for a small increase in depth. Poleboardrs will have a small window at mid-season.
