4-14 UL Lindon Beach

There was wind all around the valley as I rode home from work - especially around Springville. Arrived with Brad to Lindon beach around 5:30. The wind there seemed a bit light, but we rigged around 7 meter sails and went out. The water is high and there is only the new beach area off to the north side - the bay is full. Brad got up on a plane for a bit and continued further out, and then he fell on his jibe and discovered that the wind had back off enough that he could not waterstart. The rollers were still good size coming across the lake though. By the time I was partway out, I decided to head back before I got stuck also but still ended up swimming in a bit. I ended up picking Brad up at the boat harbor as he mostly swam for an hour. At least he was not too cold.
I don't understand the wind patterns at Lindon. It is probably not a good spot on south wind.
