The NOAA digital prediction map was the only indicator there might be wind and it showed pretty strong wind. Penny bounced me out of bed at 6:00 and I zoomed over to the lake in spite of not seeing any wind on the Meso. There wasn’t any wind until I hit the 2nd cattle guard near the lake so I was really glad to see the lake covered with whitecaps. And it was already close to 60 degrees, nice. On the water at 7:30 on the 7.0/115l, switched to the 86L board by 8:30, onto the 6.0 at 9:00, back to the 7.0/86L at 9:30, and then the 115L at 10:30 to finish off. Probably sailed 2.5 hours. Very sweet to be on the 86L most of the morning. Grantsville morning wind is so steady it is one of the few places I can make the big sail work on the small board. And to get up at 6:00 and be on the water as soon as I can get there, that only happens at Grantsville, the Gorge, and Yuba (before they made the East beach power boats only). The weather was so nice that I stayed around for a while and managed to fish out my GPS which fell in the lake Friday. There were 2 fish eagles dive bombing fish for the last hour; that was a first for Grants and I hope they stay around.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
