Arrived to the beach around 5. Slight breeze but no clouds. The wind built slowly at first so I pumped 17. Self launched right as some other regulars showed up. Slogged around for about 45 minutes switching between twintip & surfboard. The wind really picked up around 6:30ish. I ended up being lit on 17 & came in and pumped 12. The swell was amazing. Clean faces & big. There were about 6 of us total and we kited until it was dark. Could have been on 14-15m at times but overall a great session. As we were coming in some rednecks were burning a couch. I called the sheriff but he came 5 minutes after the group left. I don't like being a snitch but my contact with the state has encouraged us to call the police when we see crap like this. According to him, new legislation has allowed officers to cite those who have fires on the beach. Doesn't matter if its clean wood or a sectional. This is the state's first focus in cleaning up the beach.
