Flew in with easy access to the Gorge. Saw the Pro Men at Stevenson for Bridge of the Gods Kitefest. Pretty big air and tricks. Ended up sailing 4.7 at New Beach and powered well then to Rufus for 4.2 sailing. Also had a little "event" after Tommy my son, decided to kite all the way to the Wall from Rufus then had a harness issue, so did a self rescue to the shore. It was more of a worry for me than him. Maybe 20 yr olds have teflon "sense of risk" but I don't. Very warm week and some good hikes at Meadows and near Eagle creek. Saw lots of Utah plates and thought I recognized John F's truck.

Hi Rob,
I may have talked to you on the beach at Rufus about walking down through the suck ponds to meet your son after his self rescue.
Glad he made it back safely. If it was you, had no idea I was talking to a fellow Utahn.../Utahan.

Vern,

Yes, thanks for the heads up at Rufus and he did make it back fine. Never had to self rescue windsurfing but glad he knew (thanks to Jake for his instruction). We were with some good friends from HR. Glad you let me know it was you who also were "observing" our crew kiting.

Thank you,
Rob
