I know....Maui....not Utah, but I always love reading about everyone's adverntures, so I thought I would go ahead and post it.

Linda and I had an offer, to meet up with Gunnars, who was already in Maui. Who could pass that up! All we had to do was get there, and flights were very open. We got to Maui Friday, just after 2pm, went straight to NP Maui to get gear, and on the water by 4pm. It was nice to start with lighter winds there, a 6.2 and 102L board. We got a couple of hours in, and started to get in the groove. I think every day, the wind picked up from there. Every day we went and got a smaller board and sails. Then by Wed. we ended up on 4.0s and little boards. We experienced some of the biggest rollers, swell and waves that I have ever been in. I'm sure a real wave sailer would think it was no big deal, but big for us anyway. We both got our share of bumps and bruises, and big smiles too.

We left Maui Wed, night 10pm and We landed back here in SLC at 7am Thurs morning, went home to change, and off to work by 9am. I didn't want to waste another vac day, just going home and sleeping, and I figured I could make it through the day @ work without falling a sleep, by staying very busy. A couple more days of body rest, here at work, and I should be as good as new. It was a fast and fun sailing adventure, I hope I get to do again some time soon.

If you ever get to visit Maui, go see the guys at Neil Pryde Maui for gear. They treated us very well. Some days we were on brand new gear! and they gave us a nice discount, for repeat business. They do their best to get you out sailing with everything you need. They even did a good job suggesting the right size gear for the day, and the conditions. Kevin and Darby have been there since the first time I rented from them, 8 yrs ago. I would for sure, get gear from them again.
