After whimping out yesterday I needed to make amends to apease the wind Gods. Arrived around 10:30 to typical (at least this year) gusty 10-25 mph winds out of the NorthWest. Out on the water by 11:00 and kited for 1 1/2 hrs fully powered to having to work the kite to stay on a plane, no dropping from the sky, but needed to pay attention to keep it moving and edge hard in the gusts. Relaxed but hard to practice any spins due to up and down conditions, Great jumps in the gusts, however. Just me for the 1st session. Went out again at 1:30 till 3:30 with similar conditions, just a bit lighter, still up and down, but no problems with this combination of board and kite in staying up wind and enjoying what ever came along.
for this session I was joined by several first timers to Rush and a bevy of newbies. None of the regulars in attendence, were ya all at ULLB? Really, all considered, a great day at the pond. No problems with the moss, but water level is slowly receeding. Fairly warm, temps in the mid 50's for 2nd session 48-50 for the first one.
