Bear Lake, 6/23 -- 16m PL Venom2

Was out on a camping trip this weekend and decided that I should bring the kite just in case. Folks have been asking about Bear Lake, so I thought I'd post.

From the moring until mid-afternoon, there was a north wind that seemed mostly thermals. Would be hard for anyone but Kenny to get a decent ride off wind so light.

But in the middle of the afternoon, the wind suddenly turned 90 degrees and picked up to what seemed like 10-15 and was pretty solid. No wind meter = no idea what the wind speed actually was.

Anyhow, got out into the water and was powered up enough on my modded 16 meter Venom2. I'm a gumby on the water, so there was a great deal of downwind and plenty of time in the drink, so I got cold. That lake is pretty frigid, so bring a wettie. I could have had a good two hour session if I wasn't freezing my butt off. Super flat water, super clear, cold, and very nice. Great experience riding through reeds near shore.

I got lucky with a front coming through on the weekend I was planning to be there, but if any of you all get lucky enough to have those conditions, bring a big kite and a big board, and it'll be very worthwhile ... if the wind shows.
