10-22-07 Skyline Snowkiting

2 for 2 on the snow at Skyline. Lighter winds in the 7-14 mph range. Rode steadily powered on a 13 meter FX. Worked the kite in the lulls and found more power going downwind to the base of the hill... with gravity working for me on the upwind I was able to cut upslope with higher marks each pass. Some fun powder carving in a 2 foot deep burm... and an occasional boost in the 12-14mph gusts.

Conditions are totally unsafe for it but the gliding feeling was too good to ignore and a took a few mini flights from 50 feet up slope...hell yeah you don't get that feeling on water.... Power and Glide...mmmm! It was fun to get the snow legs back on and the minimal conditions are enough for a good time.
The roadside burm is a steep quarter pipe, but the north winds are an odd angle for approaching the hit with power.

Its amazing how much power can be developed on the snow compared to water, it was light wind and I was popping....could be the new guns too
