12/16 White Pine Pow Mow

Postby lesvierra » Sun Dec 16, 2007 2:19 pm

Skied passed the towers area, saw some snowkite ski tracks (maybe Auggies?). Auggie was right, still another storm or two to make it good. Still ridable though with rock skis, less rock to the south but more brush.

Skied out to the White Pine Area. I was out here two storms ago and found that just alittle bit of snow covered just about everything. Today, coverage was great, although I'm sure there are hidden hazzards as the snow isnt all that deep.

This place is big. I'm hoping it sees enough wind during the year to make trips out there worth it. Wind was about 5-10mph from the SW. Wind about 15 at the towers area. Took an hour to get at there, didnt think it was worth pulling out the kite, enjoyed the sunshine and pow for a little while and headed home.
