4/12 Skyline Should have been a skunk

I have been salivating for a ride the past few days but work, family, and church duties took first priority. I read Brian's report on skyline and I just had to go. Got up at 5 to get the powder. Arrived to 2 mph wind at the parking lot, so I went back to the west ridge. However, the wind was only blowing around 4. Tried setting up my SA2 anyway, but I could not get the kite off the ground. It was starting to smell pretty bad. Usually, the skunk jumps in a hole and just leaves the reek of windless stench. However, this time I could see the critter on the top of Bosco laughing and mocking me. I decided to take my new 192cm snowboard and whack that bugger over the head. Packed up kite and drove to the parking lot. This time not a breath of wind, just the odor of skunk. I was not going to be denied, so I climbed Bosco and found 8 mph wind. With the big kite and board I slapped that skunk silly. After about an hour of riding sweet pow I decided to try gliding off the hill. Had a nice long glide and landed about 75 feet from the road. Downlooped the kite and was surprised to see the kite still in the air. Looped up the hill and glided a little farther. Looped up again and really went for distance. Landed 50 yards further, but alas no wind. Looked up saw the skunk waving at me. I thought I had killed that beast. Oh well, I got the better of him this time...
