sunrise service, Grantsville 4/18 85l Real Wind 5.2

Arrived with Mike E. and Ken O. around 8 am. and guessed wrong, rigging 6.0, 5.7 and 5.6. We were only off about a meter and with the cold wind and being overpowered, we had a sphincter factor just slightly higher then a first time felon on day one in the state pen. I left my 4.7 at home, which would have been the call, and sailed overpowered all morning for a great session. George W. and Steve showed up. Hated to leave but I was too wasted. The water is still down, about 60 feet from the rail. Hoods and gloves still recommended. Yahoo!

I did arrive to the service a little late(10am)but as I reviewed the wind meter, it was the period when the wind blow the hardest (30-35). I rigged my 4.7 and 85L real wind.
What a first day of the season!!! Wearing my 4/3 wetsuit and no hood and no gloves(not recommended), I was ok until I blow a jibe --- instant ice cream headache!!!!!
It took my breath away---- had to come in to regain my composure After a short break to regain some body heat, the next session was much better. I managed to keep from
falling in and that made the experience much better. What a ripping day!!!!!!
